Pre-Owned Yamaha YSL-697Z Small Bore Tenor Trombone
Developed with the Canadian trombonist Alastair Kay the YSL-697Z (the predecessor to the 897Z) features a .483"/.490" dual bore handslide and yellow brass bell. With clear inspiration from the King 2B the 697Z was designed to provide a pure and perfectly balanced tone with quick response and presence.
This 697Z is in like-new condition; outside of a few small scratches on the tuning slide, inside of the bell and handslide contact points the lacquer is perfect, while the handslide is a 9.5/10, with one small spot of redrot on the crook. This is an agile and efficient instrument; the overall blow is very reminiscent of the vintage 2Bs, with a clear, resonant timbre at soft dynamics and a bright, shimmering tone at upper dynamics. A great choice for someone looking for a combination of Yamaha and King sensibilities! Comes with original Yamaha hard case.
