Pre-Owned 1969 Olds S-20 Super Bass Trombone

Part of the Olds professional line of trombones the S-20 is a great example of the bass trombone designs of the 1960s and 1970s, featuring a 9" yellow brass bell, single rotor in F and a dual bore .554"/.656" handslide with tuning-in-slide.  This S-20 is in very good condition for it's age.  The lacquer is 80+% with minor-to-moderate scratches throughout and age-appropriate wear on the standard contact points.  The rotor's performance is very good and the handslide is a 9/10 with a very small amount of wear on the inner tubes' plating.

This bass trombone has an amazingly open and broad sound with a nice core and resonant, projecting timbre; due to it's single rotor and TIS design it projects very easily and responds well throughout it's register (and can really bark at upper dynamics!)  This would be a great instrument for tenor players looking to move into bass trombone, bass players looking for a lighter, simplified setup or anyone looking for a bass that can keep up in commercial settings.  Comes with case and mouthpiece.
