Eastman Pietro Lombardi 502 3/4 Bass With C-Extension
The Eastman Pietro Lombardi VB502 3/4 size Gamba pattern is a professional-grade double bass characterized by its sloping shoulders and traditional rounded corners. This bass is crafted from a hand-carved, highly select spruce top and a beautifully flamed maple back and ribs. The instrument is finished with a hand-applied, multi-layer amber spirit varnish that provides a sophisticated, antiqued appearance reminiscent of classical Italian makers.
The 502 bass is noted for its strong midrange and fundamental quality, delivering a dark and well-balanced tone suitable for both orchestral and solo settings which makes it ideal for advanced players and gigging professionals.
The Eastman Bass C Extension has been designed in close collaboration with Lisa Gass of Los Angeles Bass Works. The extension allows for low notes to be opened or closed in multiple configurations. Additionally, the extension is fully adjustable, allowing the player to dial in the exact pitch for each low note.
