Brad Janzen Saskatoon 2018 Violin
Born and raised in Saskatchewan Canada, Brad attended the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated in 1994. Upon graduation Brad worked in shops in Montreal and Toronto while also returning home to Saskatchewan for periods of time where he would concentrate on making his own instruments. Mostly antiqued, his instruments are made in the style and spirit of the old Italian masters, rather than making copies of a particular violin, viola or cello. Janzen also spent time in Peru working with the string community there. Brad now lives in Ottawa Canada, working in repair and restoration as well as making his own instruments. Brad's instruments are being played by students and professional string players across Canada and the United States as well as South America.Â
This violin, made in 2018, is a testament to his craftsmanship. With a golden-blonde varnish and tasteful antiquing, this instrument gives you the sense of older violin making. It carries a soaring and powerful sound, with a level of sweetness that allows the violin to sing, fitting for very advanced and professional players.
